In Singapore, youths aged 14 to 35 go without food during a weekend in June for 30 hours as a mark of solidarity against global issues of poverty, hunger and injustice. In its 28th year running in Singapore, the 30-Hour Famine Camp is an experiential programme where youths learn about poverty, hunger and injustice. Going 30 hours without food as a mark of solidarity against these global issues, youths will be educated about the lives of those living below the poverty line, transformed to take a stand against global hunger, and empowered to make the world a better place. Through this experiential journey, campers will not only do their part for the poor, but also develop their character, values, as well as 21st century competencies such as critical thinking and global citizenry.
